Polish Agnieszka Radwanska battled her way into the third round at Wimbledon, by defeating American Christina McHale 5-7, 7-6 (7), 6-3 on Thursday.

Radwanska, seeded no. 9, did not throw in the towel after losing the first set missing four break points, as she clinched the second one in the tiebreak.

Two breaks of nine opportunities were all Radwanska, the Wimbledon 2012 finalist, needed to seal the win after two hours and 43 minutes of competition.

The 28-year-old Radwanska, former world no. 2, is set to play against the winner between Slovak Kristina Kucova and Swiss Timea Bacsinszky, seeded no. 19.

Russian Svetlana Kuznetsova, seeded no. 7, got into third round after getting the better of her compatriot Ekaterina Makarova 6-0, 7-5 in just 70 minutes.

The double Grand Slam champion is now set to play against Slovenian Polona Hercog who beat Varvara Lepchenko 6-7 (2), 6-2, 6-2.
