Around 785 foreigners with links to the Islamic State terror organization have escaped from a prison camp in northern Syria amid a Turkish military incursion, Kurdish authorities in the region said Sunday.

In a message on social media, the de facto Kurdish government in northern Syria said "foreign ISIS members" had managed to escape the Ain Issa camp in coordination with "Turkish mercenaries" — an apparent reference to Turkey-allied Syrian militias — who attacked the complex.
