At least 20 people have been killed in the last two days during communal clashes in the Indian capital over a controversial new citizenship law, officials said on Wednesday.

Amid an eerie calm on Wednesday, the police claimed that finally the situation was “under control” in northeast Delhi, where violence between rival Hindu and Muslim groups erupted on Monday with incidents of stone-pelting, arson, and vandalism in residential buildings, shops and places of worship.EFE-EPA
