The head of the Hong Kong Government Carrie Lam, confirmed today that she would postpone the legislative elections, originally scheduled for Sep. 6, due to the worsening of the COVID-19 pandemic in the city.

"It is the most difficult decision I have had to make in the last seven months, but we have to guarantee the safety of the people and that the elections are held freely and fairly," Lam said.
