India Thursday summoned a senior Pakistani diplomat, seeking an expeditious trial in the Mumbai terror attacks that left 166 people, including foreigners, dead on this day 13 years ago.

A foreign ministry spokesperson said it handed over a diplomatic note to the official from the high commission of Pakistan in India to demand justice for those who lost their lives in the carnage unleashed by ten heavily-armed men from the neighboring country.

“India call(s) for an expeditious trial in the Mumbai terror attacks case, and call(s) on the government of Pakistan to abide by its commitment to not allow territories under its control for terrorism against India was handed over to him,” the spokesperson said in a statement.
