Swedish security forces evacuated on Thursday Gothenburg airport terminal, the country's second biggest, due to a bomb threat, according to Swedish SVT television.

The bomb disposal teams proceeded to inspect an abandoned plastic bag, after receiving an anonymous call warning of the presence of explosives.

The police, according to the same channel, evacuated the terminal and strengthened monitoring throughout the airport, although the activity of its air traffic has not been affected.

Speaking to Swedish news agency TT, police spokesman Peter Adlersson, said that it was a preventive measure.

Goteborg airport is the second in terms of air traffic after Stockholm airport.

The threat follows the terrorist attacks last Tuesday in Brussels, which claimed 32 fatalities.
