Germany coach Joachim Loew said on Friday that Spanish coach Pep Guardiola has left his mark on Bayern during the three years he was at the club and throughout the Bundesliga, adding that the criticism he received for not having won the Champions League is unwarranted.

"They seem unjustified because in these three years Guardiola has done much to improve players in the daily work and led Bayern to a new level," Loew said in an interview published on Friday by the newspaper Sueddeutsche Zeitung.

"Bayern is an example of control, nice game and control of space and all that bears his signature. Guardiola has left his mark on Bayern and the Bundesliga," the coach acknowledged.
