Paris Saint Germain has doubts on whether to rely on Neymar for its upcoming Ligue 1 game given he is recovering from an injury and immersed in talks about his future.
So far, coach Thomas Tuchel has justified sidelining Neymar because he is yet to recover from an injury he suffered on 5 June while on international duty with Brazil.
Things could change on Sunday, however, against Toulouse as he could either start or finish PSG’s third match-day to be played at the Parc des Princes stadium, according to Le Parisien.
Although he is not at his best, he has begun to take part in the team training, while the French newspaper confirmed he was ready to return to competition.
The newspaper, however, admitted there are two problems on Neymar’s way of making his first appearance with PSG of the season.
First, the player himself who expressed his desire to leave prompting people surrounding him to explore the possibility of him returning to Barcelona and engage in contacts with Real Madrid and Juventus in a bid to put the Catalan club under pressure.
Barça, who has signed several players during this summer transfer window, does not have the means to offer Neymar a permanent contract.
And it’s two proposals to involve other players in a swap or to sign the player on loan first for a season with a purchase option by the end of the initial contract have been turned down by PSG sporting director Leonardo.
The loan option, however, has not been ruled out on the condition that the total fee reaches the 200 million euros the French powerhouse demand for Neymar’s services, according to RMC Sports.
Madrid, who has better relations with PSG than Barcelona, is waiting and everything could change quickly although talks have not advanced, the French sports media outlet added.
Meanwhile, Juventus has been recently linked with Neymar in the wake of media reports that suggest it wants to transfer Paulo Dybala on loan and PSG is interested in the Argentine international.
The idea to call up Neymar for one of the upcoming Ligue 1 matches PSG is to play before the summer transfer window comes to an end on 2 September divides the French club.
The memory of the hostile reaction of the fans towards Neymar during the Nimes game held at the Parc des Princes is still there, with supporters chanting offensive and abusive slogans.
PSG would have to reconcile both sides if it does not transfer Neymar until 2 Septemebr
Tuchel has repeatedly said that Neymar is a player in his squad and he is going to defend him.
His intervention, however, could not be enough to reconcile both sides if no club could not meet PSG demands of a fee near to the 222 million euros it paid two years ago to contract Neymar or the French club did not readjust its demands.
It won’t be till winter time when PSG has another opportunity to get rid of him.
Neymar, anyways, has been called up for Brazil upcoming friendlies against Colombia on Sept. 7 in Miami and Peru on Sept. 11 in Los Angeles. EFE-EPA
